രാജ്യത്തെ റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ മാത്രമല്ല റോഡുകൾ, ദേശീയപാതകൾ, തുറമുഖങ്ങൾ, വിമാനത്താവളങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെല്ലാം വികസനത്തിന്റെ പാതയിലാണെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര ന്യൂനപക്ഷകാര്യ, മൃഗസംരക്ഷണ, ക്ഷീരവികസന, ഫിഷറീസ് സഹമന്ത്രി ജോർജ്ജ് കുര്യൻ.
കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയിലെ ഓച്ചിറയിലും, ശാസ്താംകോട്ടയിലും പുതിയ ട്രെയിൻ സ്റ്റോപ്പുകൾ അനുവദിച്ചത് ഫ്ലാഗ് ഓഫ് ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. നമ്മുടെ മുൻ തലമുറകൾ കഠിനാധ്വാനം ചെയ്തതിന്റെ സാക്ഷാത്കാരമാണ് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ നൂറുവർഷം പിന്നിടുമ്പോൾ നാം വികസിത ഭാരതം ആവുക എന്നതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു. ജനങ്ങളുടെ പിന്തുണ കൊണ്ടാണ് ഭരണാധികാരികൾക്ക് കരുത്ത് ഉണ്ടാവുന്നതെന്നും കേന്ദ്രസഹമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. എം.പി.മാർ, എം എൽ.എ., തിരുവനന്തപുരം റെയിൽവേ ഡിവിഷണൽ മാനേജർ എന്നിവർ ചടങ്ങിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു.
ട്രെയിൻ നമ്പർ 16366 നാഗർകോവിൽ ജംഗ്ഷൻ – കോട്ടയം ഡെയ്‌ലി എക്‌സ്‌പ്രസിന് ഓച്ചിറ റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ അധിക സ്റ്റോപ്പ് അനുവദിച്ചതിനെ തുടർന്ന് ട്രെയിൻ വൈകുന്നേരം 18:07 ന് ഓച്ചിറയിൽ എത്തുകയും വൈകുന്നേരം 18:08 ന് ഓച്ചിറയിൽ നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.
ട്രെയിൻ നമ്പർ 16605 മംഗളൂരു സെൻട്രൽ – തിരുവനന്തപുരം സെൻട്രൽ ഏറനാട് എക്സ്പ്രസ് 19:00 മണിക്കൂറിന് ശാസ്താംകോട്ടയിൽ എത്തുകയും 19:01 മണിക്കൂറിൽ പുറപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.
ട്രെയിൻ നമ്പർ 16606 തിരുവനന്തപുരം സെൻട്രൽ – മംഗളൂരു സെൻട്രൽ ഏറനാട് എക്സ്പ്രസ് 2025 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 04 മുതൽ ശാസ്താംകോട്ടയിൽ നിർത്തും. രാവിലെ 05:11 മണിക്കൂറിന് ശാസ്താംകോട്ടയിൽ എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന ട്രെയിൻ, 05:12 മണിക്കൂറിന് പുറപ്പെടും.
Union Minister George Kurian to inaugurate new train stops at Ochira and Sasthamkotta
The Railway Board has sanctioned additional stoppages for two major trains at Ochira and Sasthamkotta railway stations in Kollam district, providing improved connectivity and convenience for passengers.
Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries Shri George Kurian will inaugurate the additional stoppage for Train No. 16366 Nagercoil Junction – Kottayam Daily Express at Ochira railway station on 3rd September 2025. The train will arrive at Ochira at 18:07 hrs and depart at 18:08 hrs.
On the same day, the Minister will flag off the additional stoppage of Train No. 16605 Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Ernad Express at Sasthamkotta railway station at 19:00 hrs. The train will depart from Sasthamkotta at 19:01 hrs. The pairing Train No. 16606 Thiruvananthapuram Central – Mangaluru Central Ernad Express will also begin its halt at Sasthamkotta from 4th September 2025, arriving at 05:11 hrs and departing at 05:12 hrs.
Elected representatives, passengers and members of the general public will join the inauguration ceremonies at Ochira and Sasthamkotta railway stations to mark the introduction of these new stops, which are expected to benefit daily commuters and long-distance travelers alike.
