The Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, today said that Dinamalar has earned the trust of the people over the past 75 years by upholding the values of truth, patriotism and public service, and called upon the newspaper to continue serving the nation for many more years.
Addressing the function held in Chennai to mark the 75th year of publication of Dinamalar and the release of a commemorative postage stamp, the Vice President noted that Dinamalar, founded in 1951 with the resolve to serve as a touchstone of truth and Recalled the contribution of Dinamalar founder Shri T. V. Ramasubbaiyer.
He observed that an idea that originated in the mind of one individual has today grown into a large organisation, reflecting the dedication and collective efforts of successive generations.
Shri C.P.Radhakrishnan emphasised that a newspaper can earn and retain the trust of the people only when it stands firm against pressures and continues to uphold higher values such as patriotism and public service without fear.He said that Dinamalar’s work over the past 75 years has established such a bond of trust with its readers.
The Vice President stressed the importance of nurturing the next generation and appreciated Dinamalar’s efforts through its ‘Pattam’ publication, which brings knowledge on general awareness, language skills and scientific innovations to school students.
The Vice President wished Dinamalar continued growth and success, saying that it should remain a touchstone of truth, serving the nation and society for many more decades.
