103 അമൃത് സ്റ്റേഷനുകളുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നിർവഹിക്കും:അമൃത് ഭാരത് സ്റ്റേഷൻ സ്കീം പ്രകാരം ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തിന് ഒരുങ്ങി നവീകരിച്ച വടകര, മാഹി, ചിറയിൻകീഴ് റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ
ഇന്ത്യൻ റെയിൽവേയെ ആധുനികവൽക്കരിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ചരിത്രപരമായ നീക്കം അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് അമൃത് ഭാരത് സ്റ്റേഷൻ പദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം പുനർവികസിപ്പിച്ച 103 റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി നാളെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും.
ഇന്ത്യയിലുടനീളമുള്ള റെയിൽവേ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ ആധുനികവൽക്കരിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള അമൃത് ഭാരത് സ്റ്റേഷൻ സ്കീം (ABSS) പ്രകാരം പുനർവികസിപ്പിച്ച വടകര, മാഹി, ചിറയിൻകീഴ് റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തിന് സജ്ജമായി. രാജ്യത്തുടനീളമുള്ള 103 അമൃത് സ്റ്റേഷനുകളുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി വീഡിയോ കോൺഫറൻസിലൂടെ 2025 മെയ് 22 ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി നവീകരിച്ച സ്റ്റേഷനുകളുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിർവഹിക്കും.
പാലക്കാട് ഡിവിഷനിലുള്ള വടകര, മാഹി സ്റ്റേഷനുകളുടെ നവീകരണത്തിനായി മൊത്തം 42.08 കോടി രൂപയാണ് വകയിരുത്തിയത്. ഇതിൽ വടകര റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനു വേണ്ടി 29.47 കോടി രൂപയും മാഹി സ്റ്റേഷനുവേണ്ടി 12.61 കോടി രൂപയും വിനിയോഗിച്ചാണ് നവീകരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ നടത്തിയത്. യാത്രക്കാരുടെ തിരക്ക് ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നതിനായി രണ്ട് സ്റ്റേഷനുകളിലെയും ബുക്കിംഗ് ഓഫീസും ടിക്കറ്റിംഗ് ഏരിയകളും വികസിപ്പിക്കുകയും നവീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. തിരക്കേറിയ സമയങ്ങളിലെ തിരക്ക് കുറയ്ക്കുന്നതിനായി അധിക ഓട്ടോമാറ്റിക് ടിക്കറ്റ് വെൻഡിംഗ് മെഷീനുകൾ (എടിവിഎമ്മുകൾ) സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. യാത്രാനുഭവം മനോഹരമാക്കാനായി പ്രദേശത്തിന്റെ സാംസ്കാരിക സമ്പന്നതയും കലാപരമായ പൈതൃകവും പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കും വിധം സ്റ്റേഷന്റെ ഉൾഭാഗങ്ങൾ പ്രാദേശിക ചുവർചിത്രങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ട് മനോഹരമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ആധുനിക രൂപകൽപ്പനയിൽ നവീകരിച്ച സ്റ്റേഷനുകൾ ലോകോത്തര സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ, മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട പ്രവേശനക്ഷമത, മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട യാത്രാ സുഖസൗകര്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
പ്രതിദിനം 20,000-ത്തിലധികം യാത്രക്കാർക്ക് സേവനം നൽകുന്ന വടകര റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ നവീകരിച്ച എസി, നോൺ-എസി കാത്തിരിപ്പ് മുറികൾ, മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട റിട്ടയറിംഗ് റൂമുകൾ, ഒരു പുതിയ എസ്കലേറ്റർ, പുനർനിർമ്മിച്ച പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോമുകൾ (1 മുതൽ 3 വരെ), പോർച്ച് മുതൽ സ്റ്റേഷൻ വരെയുള്ള പുതിയ വാക് വേ, വിപുലീകരിച്ച ബുക്കിംഗ് ഏരിയകൾ, ലാൻഡ്‌സ്‌കേപ്പ് ചെയ്ത ചുറ്റുപാടുകൾ, UPVC വിൻഡോകൾ, ചുവർചിത്രങ്ങൾ, വെർട്ടിക്കൽ ഗാർഡൻ, നവീകരിച്ച ടോയ്‌ലറ്റുകൾ, സെപ്റ്റിക് ടാങ്കുകൾ, മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട പാർക്കിംഗ് എന്നിവ സജ്ജമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തിന്റെ പരമ്പരാഗത വാസ്തു സൗന്ദര്യശാസ്ത്രത്തെ പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിധത്തിലാണ് റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷന്റെ പുനർനിർമ്മിതി.
പുതുച്ചേരി, മാഹി ജില്ലയിൽ അഴിയൂരിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന മാഹി സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ പുതിയ കാത്തിരിപ്പ് മുറികൾ, ടോയ്‌ലറ്റ് ബ്ലോക്കുകൾ, ബെഞ്ചുകൾ, പ്ലാറ്റ്‌ഫോം ഷെൽട്ടറുകൾ എന്നിവയുടെ നിർമ്മാണത്തിന് പുറമേ സമർപ്പിത പാർക്കിംഗ് സോണുകൾ, രണ്ടാമത്തെ പ്രവേശന പോയിന്റ്, ഒരു പുതിയ പോർച്ച് എന്നിവയും നിർമ്മിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. വെർട്ടിക്കൽ ഗാർഡനുകൾ, KOTA സ്റ്റോൺ ഫ്ലോറിംഗ്, സ്റ്റെയിൻലെസ് സ്റ്റീൽ നെയിം ബോർഡുകൾ എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള സൗന്ദര്യവൽക്കരണ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ കൂടാതെ ദിവ്യാംഗ്ജൻ സൗഹൃദ ടോയ്‌ലറ്റുകളും മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട പ്രകാശ സംവിധാനവും സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
തിരുവനന്തപുരം ഡിവിഷനിലുള്ള ചിറയിൻകീഴ്, കുഴിത്തുറൈ (തമിഴ്നാട്) സ്റ്റേഷനുകളും പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി നവീകരിച്ചു. 7.036 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവിൽ നവീകരിച്ച ചിറയിൻകീഴ് സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ മെച്ചപ്പെട്ട കാത്തിരിപ്പ് ഹാളുകൾ, ഷെൽട്ടറുകൾ, പബ്ലിക് ഇൻഫർമേഷൻ സിസ്റ്റം ഡിസ്പ്ലേകൾ, ദിവ്യാംജൻ സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. മികച്ച യാത്രാ അന്തരീക്ഷം പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന തരത്തിൽ സൗന്ദര്യാത്മക കമാനമാണ് ചിറയിൻകീഴിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്.
5.35 കോടി രൂപയുടെ നവീകരണം നടത്തിയ കുഴിത്തുറൈ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ നവീകരിച്ച മുൻഭാഗം, മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തിയ ടോയ്‌ലറ്റുകൾ, കോച്ച് ഇൻഡിക്കേഷൻ സംവിധാനങ്ങൾ, ഡിജിറ്റൽ സൈനേജുകൾ, ദിവ്യാംഗ്ജൻ സൗഹൃദ പ്രവേശന സവിശേഷതകൾ എന്നിവയുണ്ട്.

2022 ഡിസംബറിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച അമൃത് ഭാരത് സ്റ്റേഷൻ സ്കീം, ഇന്ത്യയിലുടനീളമുള്ള 1,300-ലധികം റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനുകളെ ആധുനികവും മൾട്ടിമോഡൽ, ഭാവിക്ക് തയ്യാറായതുമായ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങളോടെ പുനർവികസിപ്പിക്കാൻ ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടുളളതാണ്. യാത്രാ സേവനങ്ങളിൽ ആഗോള നിലവാരം ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിനൊപ്പം പ്രാദേശിക സ്വത്വം പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി ഹബ്ബുകളായി സ്റ്റേഷനുകളെ മാറ്റാൻ പദ്ധതി ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നു.

Vadakara, Mahe, and Chirayinkeezhu Railway Stations Redeveloped Under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme Set for Inauguration
Vadakara, Mahe, and Chirayinkeezhu railway stations redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), a flagship initiative to modernize railway infrastructure across India, gears up for inauguration. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the redeveloped stations on 22nd May 2025, via video conference, as part of the nationwide launch of 103 Amrit Bharat stations.
A total outlay of ₹42.08 crore was sanctioned for the redevelopment of Vadakara and Mahe stations under the Palakkad railway division. Of this, ₹29.47 crore was invested in the upgradation of Vadakara station, and ₹12.61 crore in Mahe station. Enhancements include expanded booking and ticketing areas to manage increased passenger traffic, installation of additional Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) to reduce wait times, and aesthetic improvements through the use of local murals celebrating the cultural and artistic heritage of the region.
The Vadakara railway station, which caters to over 20,000 passengers daily, has undergone a comprehensive transformation. Key features include newly renovated air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned waiting halls, upgraded retiring rooms, a new escalator, reconstruction of platforms 1 to 3, a new walkway from the station porch, landscaped surroundings, UPVC windows, vertical gardens, artistic murals, modernized restrooms, improved parking facilities, and upgraded sanitation systems. The station’s design integrates elements of Kerala’s traditional architectural style.
In Mahe railway station, located in Azhiyur in the Mahe district of Puducherry, enhancements include new waiting halls, toilet blocks, platform shelters, stainless steel name boards, benches, a second entry point, a new porch, and a designated parking zone. The beautification works also feature vertical gardens, KOTA stone flooring, enhanced lighting systems, and Divyangjan-friendly amenities.
As part of the same initiative, Chirayinkeezhu and Kulitturai stations under the Thiruvananthapuram division have also been modernized. Chirayinkeezhu station was redeveloped at a cost of ₹7.036 crore and now boasts improved waiting areas, upgraded shelters, enhanced public information systems, Divyangjan-friendly features, and a newly constructed aesthetic archway that enhances the overall travel ambiance.
Kulitturai station, redeveloped at a cost of ₹5.35 crore, features a refreshed façade, upgraded restrooms, modern coach indication systems, digital signage, and inclusive access features to ensure a seamless and comfortable experience for all passengers.
