The National Test House (NTH), Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, is set to host a grand celebration for its 115th Foundation Day tomorrow, 29 August 2026, at its Jakkuru Campus in Bengaluru. The flagship event will be graced by Shri Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, New & Renewable Energy, and Education as the Chief Guest.
The commemorative programme will also witness the august presence of Shri B. L. Verma, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for MSME & Labour and Employment, and Smt. Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs. They will be joined by senior government officials, industry representatives, and other distinguished dignitaries to mark this historic milestone in India’s quality assurance journey.
A major highlight of the Foundation Day event will be the inauguration of the state-of-the-art NTH Bengaluru building. Furthermore, the Hon’ble Minister will virtually inaugurate several crucial facilities and initiatives across the broader NTH network to expand nationwide testing capabilities and improve accessibility. These include the Coal Testing Facility at Kolkata, the Solar Water Heater Testing Facility at Chennai, the Utensils Testing Facility at Jaipur, and the new NTH Laboratory at Deendayal Hastkala Sankul (Trade Centre), Varanasi. The event will also feature the official launch of the much-anticipated “NTH Suvidha” mobile application, designed to streamline testing access for industry stakeholders and MSMEs.
